Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) - Stem Cell Transplant Program

The Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) program is affiliated with Indiana University Medical Center (IUMC) offering evaluation, apheresis, high dose chemotherapy, in and out patient services and follow-up by IUMC Bone Marrow Transplant physicians and local oncology physicians.  Credentialed Advanced Practice Nurse to facilitate pre and post bone marrow transplant care and impatient monitoring.

Clinic hours every other Monday with IUMC physicians.  Inpatient/outpatient care available as needed.  Nutritional and Social Service Support available.

BMT Support Group meets the 2nd Wednesday of every month from 4:00 - 5:00 PM at the Leighton Center.  Persons and significant others who are preparing for a Bone Marrow Transplant or have experienced a Bone Marrow Transplant are welcome.

Cancer Support Group

Meets 2nd Tuesday of every month at the Leighton Center, 4:30 - 5:30 PM.  The Support Group meets for the purpose of allowing cancer individuals and their family members and friends an opportunity to meet each other, share concerns, and offer suggestions, support and encouragement to each other.   These programs are open to any persons experiencing cancer and their support people.  Light snacks are served.  There is no need to pre-register or call ahead and there is no cost.  Memorial's oncology social worker and oncology Clinical Nurse Specialist facilitate the group.

GYN Oncology Clinic

A collaborative effort with GYN oncology physicians from Indiana University Medical Center who consult with GYN patients from the community.

Clinic held 2nd and 4th Wednesday of every month.

Memorial Regional Lymphedema Program
Assessment and MLD Treatment

The Memorial Lymphedema Treatment Program is a comprehensive approach to the treatment of lymphedema based on the protocol of Complete Decongestive Physiotherapy (CDP).  The treatment consists of five components:  Manual Lymph Drainage (MLD), compression bandaging, exercise, skin care and wearing of an elastic garment once the lymphedema is under control.  The therapists in the program are certified in CDP by the Lerner Academy of Lymphatic Studies.

Pain and Symptom Management Program

The Pain and Symptom Management Program provides patients with individual consultation or state of the art pain management.  Additionally, consultation is available on other symptoms such as nausea and vomiting, appetite problems and weight loss, energy and fatigue problems, and others.   These consultations are with an Advanced Practice Nurse (Clinical Nurse Specialist) who has expertise and is credentialed in Pain and Symptom Management.  The Advanced Practice Nurse works closely with your physician to help you achieve optimal symptom control.

Support Group Information

  • Woman to Woman
    An education and support group for breast cancer survivors.  For additional information, please call (574)257-9789.

  • Man to Man

  • Look Good...Feel Better
    Volunteer cosmetologists (all certified professionals) help patients enhance their appearance using a 12-step program developed especially for women undergoing radiation and chemotherapy.  They demonstrate how woman can use makeup, wigs and other accessories to look like themselves again - to restore their self-image, confidence and sense of control.  For more information or to register, please call (574)257-9789.
