Hospitalists
A team of Board Certified Pediatricians is available 24hrs a day to consult with your child’s primary care physician and/or assume care for any child in need of in-patient hospitalization. The Hospitalist team also works in conjunction with the Pediatric Intensivists to provide Procedural Sedation for children undergoing painful procedures in the inpatient and outpatient areas of Memorial Hospital.

Intensivists
Memorial Children’s Hospital maintains a 9 bed Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) adjacent to the General Pediatric Floor. The PICU is managed exclusively by Board Certified Pediatric Intensivists, specializing in the care of the critically ill or injured infants and children. In addition to caring for the children within the PICU, the Memorial Intensivists direct the Pediatric Emergency Transport Services Team (PETS), provide Procedural Sedation services in conjunction with the Pediatric Hospitalists, and work closely with the area physicians and surgeons to ensure the on-going quality of care for the hospitalized child. The Pediatric Intensivists also work in collaboration with the Trauma surgeons in the management of pediatric trauma patients.
