What Women Put Up With is a series of fun health educational programs AND “how to” demonstrations on basic car and household maintenance. Memorial Hospital of South Bend, in conjunction with the Spirit of Women Organization, is pleased to offer these free programs to the women of our community.
Balance Your Tires, Balance Your Hormones:
Are you entering menopause? Wondering about it? Peri-menopausal? Rejoice! You’re coming into some of the best years of your life. Women are discovering that menopause is a rebirth into profound strength, spirituality and joy. Discuss the wonder and humor of menopause as you learn about peri-menopause, hormones and all the resources available for mid-life, in addition to learning tips for general care maintenance. Get ready... because your best years are still to come.
Topics covered during this invaluable and fun program include:
- Perceptions of menopause
- Symptoms of peri-menopause
- The full continuum of hormone replacement options including natural alternatives and Bio-Identical hormone therapy
- Complicating health factors associated with hormone replacement therapy
- The benefits of partnering with your healthcare providers
- General car maintenance demonstrations
The goals of this program are to assist you:
- To move towards acceptance of menopause as a natural, manageable and positive course of life
- To connect hormonal changes to your symptoms
- To name more treatment options after the program than you knew before the program
- To work in partnership with medical professionals as you make decisions as to the treatment options that are right for you
- To enhance your ability to perform general car maintenance
